The great thing about painting is that it’s never too late to modify an idea. It’s always best to get the underlying abstraction correct as soon as possible and maintain it throughout the process. The details that fit within the abstraction can however change at will, sometimes out of necessity and sometimes because new ideas come along during the process. A new idea has come to me which I am considering trying on the Adam painting.
Adam is painted blue, one of the three primary colours, and it is important he remains blue. It wouldn’t hurt however if his face was a different colour. I am considering changing his face to brown and also basing it on a female portrait. Today I sketched out one possibility - I wonder how it would look?
