There is such a huge range of music available to us in this day and age we could potentially listen to a different genre every day of the year. The question is does music influence the way you paint? Or to put it another way, do you choose music to complement your current style or subject of your painting? It’s certainly plausible to suggest there is a connection between these two art forms. One might argue it makes sense to play fast, upbeat music when painting a dynamic, expressive contemporary painting. It’s worth thinking about, so the next time your’e painting why not consider what tunes would best describe your process or painting style.

The first portrait below was drawn with Sharpie felt pens and the second with Posca paint pens. It’s not too difficult to guess the music I was listening to at the time.
