The book called Thinking, Fast and Slow is written by psychologist Daniel Kahneman. It offers fascinating insights into the workings of the brain and how we think. Most of the time our thinking is automatic, intuitive and fast but sometimes the mind has to slow down to consider, ponder and work things out. Kahneman likens these two aspects of thinking as two characters in a play which is almost like saying we each have two minds (one mind that plays two very different roles).
In many ways psychology is rather like religion particularly the Eastern religions. I would say the Bible too has at it’s heart the story of the human mind and it’s evolution from primitive to cultured, from animal to divine. The kingdom of Heaven comes not with observation for the Kingdom of Heaven is within.
