Today I have been tidying up my collection of art pens and posting images of them for sale on FB. It’s a difficult job to detach oneself from one’s treasured posessions and I do treasure all my art materials. Most of my vast collection of pens have not been used for a while but rather than get rid of all of them I decided to use some for a new artwork. So I am going to attempt a study from a photo of the garden outside Gustav Klimt’s studio. I plan to use mostly gel pens and paint the scene in the style of a Klimt landscape. To begin I have made a value study using pigment markers one quarter size of the main painting. No need for detail at this stage just establish the underlying abstraction.
