Impressionist style painting with heavy bridging. This is all about colour and pattern although there is also a hint of form and depth. Unlike Allen’s previous painting ‘Apples and Orange’ there are no glazes at all so a totally direct painting. There is also more physicality to this painting. This is in many ways a simple painting but that is one of it’s strengths along with a wide range in value and a complementary palette. It should look good with any modern decor.
